The Indian National Agricultural Research
System (NARS) with its nationwide network of educational and research
institutions consisting of state agricultural universities, zonal research
stations, ICAR institutes with regional stations established Agricultural
Research Information System (ARIS) in 1996-97 to
strengthen its research information base with funds from National Agricultural
Research Project. Apart
from research, teaching and training in the field of information technology,
this section is also responsible for
implementation of advancements in this field. It has two main components: creation of infrastructure
for providing electronic connectivity-internet. Further, ARIS cell was renamed
as AKMU as per ICAR guidelines (F.No. 3-1/2010-GAS (DIPA) dt 27 January, 2011.
The AKMU is acting as a
Information Technology centre for MPKV.
All the IT needs of University are fulfilled by AKMU and hence engaged in all IT related
activities of University.
